Mrs. Doris M. Brashear, age 91 of Robinson, IL passed away on Tuesday February 27, 2018 at 4:03 PM at the Magnolia Center, Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL following complications from pneumonia.

Born in Prairie Township, Crawford County, IL on May 10, 1926 she was the daughter of Walter and Cinda Jane (Sims) Spawn.  On October 18, 1945 she married Graydon W. “Bill” Brashear and he preceded her in death November 19, 1994.  

Doris worked for a time in LaPorte, IN for Allis Chalmers Plant manufacturing war material.  After marrying Graydon, she was a homemaker, staying home to raise a loving family.  She was a member of the Porterville Congregational Christian Church.  Her farm became a Centennial Farm on November 20, 2017, purchased in 1901 by Doris’ grandfather.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Nancy Brashear, Sullivan, IN, Todd and Teri Brashear, Marshall, IL; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Jim McKinney, Sullivan, IN, Brenda and Jim Wolfe, Robinson, IL; eight grandchildren, Ryan and Jamie Brashear, Carmel, IN, Shawn and Chandra McKinney, Sullivan, IN, Andrea and Matt Glowacki, Libertyville, IL, Danielle and Josh Adams, Robinson, IL, Travis and Natalie McKinney, Fairbanks, IN, Tyler and Amber Brashear, Marshall, IL, Trey and Bethany Brashear, Marshall, IL, Tara and Skyler Low, Marshall, IL; twelve great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Mary Brashear, Lawrenceville, IL; brothers-in-law, Jake Shonk, Robinson, IL and Jim and Mercedes Brashear, LaPorte, IN.

Preceding her in death were her parents, and her husband Graydon “Bill” Brashear in 1994.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday March 5, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL, with Bro. Jerry McDaniel officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday March 4, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Burial will follow funeral services in the Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to the Porterville Congregational Christian Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of such a wonderful woman. She will be missed by many people who had the honor of knowing and loving her. Prayers are going out to all my cousins and their families. So sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. We know you both were close and she will be missed greatly. Please accept our condolences for your loss. From what we've heard, she was a great woman to be admired. No one can replace your mom, but God can comfort your heart. He knows what you need during this time much better than anyone else. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.
