MRS. DORIS E. PRIER, AGE 96

Mrs. Doris E. Prier, age 96, of Robinson, IL, passed away Tuesday February 27, 2018 at 7:37 AM at the Magnolia Center, Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL following a long period of declining health.

Born June 14, 1921 in Annapolis, IL, she was the daughter of Lester J. and March E. (Hill) Barrett.  On November 26, 1943 she married Otto A. “Bud” Prier and he preceded her in death February 12, 2014.

Doris was a secretary with The Ohio Oil Company, Robinson, IL and a secretary at the Army Air Corps, San Angelo, Texas During WWII.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Robinson, IL, Member and Past officer of the United Methodist Women, member of the P.E.O. Chapter IG, Robinson, IL, member and past president, Sorosis Club, Robinson, IL and  taught Sunday School for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol E. Ryan, Robinson, IL; grandchildren, Theodore and Chylea Ryan, San Jacinto, CA, Daniel Benjamin and Michelle Ryan, Livermore, CA and Michael Allison Ryan, California; four great grandchildren, Jacob, Everly, Sunnie and Morgan.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Otto A. “Bud” Prier and a daughter, Dana Lynn Prier in October 1945.

There will be a Memorial Service held on Sunday March 11, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, Robinson, IL with Rev. Jay Regennitter officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM at the church.  Interment of cremated remains will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL following the Memorial Service.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 201 West Walnut Street, Robinson, IL or to the Magnolia Center, Crawford Memorial Hospital, 1000 North Allen Street, Robinson, IL with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Carol, I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Doris's death. I remember her as Aunt Doris, even though I think she was a second cousin? I loved visiting Aunt Doris and Uncle Bud. They were so genuine and warm and Doris made the best desserts. Hugs
