Life Legacy

Kenneth W. "Bub" Tracy Jr., 68, Oblong, Illinois died on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Illinois, following a massive stroke on Tuesday.

Born in Robinson, Illinois on July 3, 1944, he was the son of Kenneth W. Tracy Sr. and Eldiva M. "El" (Randolph) Tracy. He was known to many as Bub. He honored our Country with his service in the United States Army where he proudly served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970 and our County as a Deputy Sheriff for Crawford County, Illinois. Ken worked for 34 years for Marathon Petroleum Company and retired as a Chief Operator on Complex 2. He also ran the Shell Station with his father for many years in Oblong, Illinois. He was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1962, Oblong American Legion Post #219 and the Robinson V.F.W. Ken had many talents and interests during his life and supported many charities.

Ken is survived by his loving partner and best friend Pam Edwards, Oblong, IL and his only son and daughter-in-law Kory W. and Nikki Tracy, Winchester, IN; his mother, Eldiva "El" Tracy, Oblong, IL; family members Doug and Lori Edwards, Crystal and Seth Armes and Janessa and Matt McCracken all of Washington, IN and Lois Beard, Vincennes, IN, the almost mother-in-law, who thought the world of Bub. Also surviving are three brothers and sisters-in-laws Kelly and Susie Tracy, Kevin and Cindy Tracy all of Oblong, IL and Kerry and Geneann Tracy of Safety Harbor, FL; eight grandchildren, Haley, Wesley, Ashlyn, Briston, Kearston, Brody, Blane and Owen; one great- grandson Case; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his father; a brother John Robert Tracy, a sister Patricia Ann Tracy and a nephew, Kasey Wayne Tracy.

Visitation for Ken will be Sunday December 2, 2012 from 2 - 5 P.M. at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, IL. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Oblong American Legion Post #219. Envelopes available at the funeral home or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449. There will be a Private Family Graveside Service. Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by Oblong American Legion Post #219.
