MR. WILLIAM THOMAS “TOM” HAWKINS, AGE 84

Mr. William Thomas “Tom” Hawkins, age 84 of Robinson, IL passed away Saturday February 1, 2020 at Heritage Health (Cotillion Ridge) Nursing Center in Robinson, IL following several months of failing health.

Born October 1, 1935 in Woodward, OK to William H. and Mary E. (McPherson) Hawkins, Tom was one of three children.  On August 31, 1956 he married Virginia Ann (Shup) and she preceded him in death in 1979.  On October 17, 1981 he married Geraldene M. (Hatch) Aldrich who passed away in 2017.

Tom was a Radiographer for Combustion Engineering, Chattanooga, TN, then began a career with Central Illinois Public Service (CIPS) now AMEREN as a Quality Control Manager at the Newton Power Plant, Newton, IL.  During his working life, Tom had many professional and technical society memberships.  He was a member of the Robinson Church of Christ, Robinson, IL.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Sue Hawkins, South Pittsburg, TN, Douglas and Cathy Hawkins, Brandenburg, KY, Randall & Tina Hawkins, South Pittsburg, TN; daughters and sons-in-law, Ms. Laura Irwin, Glasgow, KY, Julie and Tim Cummins, Gallatin, TN; a step son, Bill and Michelle Aldrich, Robinson, IL; a step daughter, Ms. Lisa Garner, Springfield, IL; daughter-in-law, Judy Hawkins, Laconia, IN; thirty one grandchildren, thirty one great-grandchildren with one on the way; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Janet Hawkins, Rosewood Heights, IL, a sister, Mary Sickbert, Moro, IL and several nieces and nephews as well as special friends and caregivers, Mary and Doug McIntosh.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wives, Virginia and Geraldene; a son-in-law, Steve Irwin and a brother-in-law, Kim Sickbert.

Funeral services will be Saturday February 8, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Pastor Ray Warfel officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Interment of the cremated remains will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Children’s Home Inc., 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, Arkansas 72450 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
