I have no doubt this man was met at Heaven’s gate by rejoicing angels.  He is the first preacher I remember hearing and he baptized me with my sister.  I have so many fond memories of him and some of the pranks my dad and other members of that church would play on him.    He later worked at St Louis Christian College and was a lifeline to my parents when my mother was fighting cancer at St Louis Barnes Hospital.  I’m so glad I bumped into him recently and got to speak to him.  RIP Phil and I’m sure you are now reaping your reward in Heaven.

Rest in peace Phil. What a treasure of Biblical knowledge you had and of memories of Ole Crawford. The Lord certainly blessed you. Carl and Sue Jones

I have lost another Hero.  Phil has been one to me since I was about 12 years old. We have been kindred Spirits in our Love for the Lord and His Word.  He saved me from drowning at Camp as a boy, stood up with my brother at his wedding and preached  my fathers funeral.( Len Faull) My memory bank is full of memories of him for 67 years and none of them are bad.  A great preacher, teacher, Christian, and friend.

Oh, what memories of this special man!  My husband wrestled with him and others before we were married, and when he was trying to give teens something to do that would build their bodies and spirits. That was the early 60s.  Ron had the utmost respect for Phil, and he visited us in our home after we were married.  I think he spread the Word in actions and deeds as long as he drew breath.  R.I.P.

Phil was a wonderful man and friend.  He was actually present at my baptism in September of 1962 when the "Way of Gladness" quartet was preaching a revival at the First Christian Church in Odon, Indiana.

Brother Phil Young was a wonderful friend, brother in Christ, and fellow minister of the gospel. I met him many years ago, as he was a friend of my wife's family. When I lived in Oblong, I had breakfast with him once every month, along with other gospel ministers. We had many wonderful conversations, and we had a deep respect for each other. God bless you, Phil. You were a blessing to my life.

Donna and Kay, I am so sorry to hear that you lost Phil but we know without a doubt he’s in God’s arms right now. My parents were Andy and Mary Winks of Alma,IL. They loved to hear Phil preach and he held several revivals at the Alma Christian Church. Thankfully I was able to take Mother to see Phil at Salem, IL just a few years ago. And recently I sent Phil a few old pictures from Old Belt Christian Service Camp and a flyer from his 40th celebration of preaching. I am going to miss his newsletter very much. Blessing to both of you.
Ruth Ann ( Winks) Hawkins.

Many of us grew up knowing Phil Young from church camp to wonderful old time revival meetings.  In more recent years he ministered at Falmouth Church of Christ where Phil and his sisters served so enthusiastically.   Our mother counted them as dear friends.  He leaves a great legacy as he claims his heavenly reward for a life well lived.  Our condolences.

I talked to Phil on the phone just a week or so ago. We were so looking forward to working together at the Wabash Valley Christian Institute in April. A legend in his line 9 has gone home to receive his rich reward.

Donna & Kay:   Sorry to hear of  brother Phil's death but what a wonderful
way to pass from this earth to the next.   I have many fond memories of
Phil and Larry as they held several revivals for me.   He was a great example
of faithfulness  and dedication to the Lord and the Word.    It was my
privilege to have known him and he being a part of my ministry through
revivals and his involvement with SLCC.   Dale Wands

We have learned so much from him over the years when we have had the opportunity to hear him preach in Ohio. We know he is rejoicing in his reward with the Lord.

Melody and I are saddened to hear of the passing of Phil. We are praying for you Donna and Kay that the Lord will give you strength through this time. We remember so much from the trip to Israel, and still talk about it. Phil has been an inspiration in our life. Even though He has gone to his heavenly home he will still be an inspiration to many as his newsletters, videos, tapes will continue to teach those who can go back in their library and study from them. God bless. Love in Christ. Albert and Melody Bricker.

I always appreciated Phil's faithfulness to the Lord and his desire to preach the Gospel in the same way Peter and Paul preached it. I have know him since my days at L.B.I. in Lincoln, IL. May the Lord comfort the relatives and friends with that comfort mentioned in II Corinthians 1.
