GEORGE N. SNIDER, AGE 99

Mr. George N. Snider, age 99 of Robinson, IL passed away Wednesday January 29. 2020 at 4:31 AM in Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL after several years of failing health.

Born July 19, 1920 in Birds, IL to Dewy N. and Annie (Parker) Snider he was one of five children.  On November 1, 1941 he married Mary A. (Peterson) and she preceded him in death January 25, 2008.

George served in the U.S. Army during WWII.  He worked for Tidewater – Getty Oil and then Chevron Texaco Oil, Kilgore, TX where he worked as a Roustabout Pumper before retiring.  George was a member of the Reavill Post #138, American legion, Flat Rock, IL and E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion, Robinson, IL.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Joan Snider, Robinson, IL; a daughter, Mrs. Neva Antonio, Carlock, IL; six grandchildren, Pam and Mike Bell, Robinson, IL, Mary and Dave Leiber, Ellabell, GA, Kim Cornwell, Robinson, IL, Georgianna and Tommy Belcher, Fredericksburg, VA, Newman and Kristine Antonio, Colfax, IL and Christopher and Kelly Antonio, Cooksville, IL; eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Preceding George in death were his parents; his wife, Mary A. Snider, 2008; a daughter, Loretta Allison, 1991; sons-in-law, Bill Allison and Bill Antonio; brothers, Ralph Snider and Harold Snider; sisters, Lucille Dunlap and Dorothy Dunlap.

Funeral service will be Sunday February 2, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Rev. Gene Beard officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday February 2, 2020 from 1:00 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery, Flat Rock, IL.

Memorial Donations may be made to the EM Coulter Post #69, American Legion, Robinson, IL with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Military rites provided by the Combined units of VFW Post #4549, Robinson, IL, E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion, Robinson, IL, Reavill Post #138, American Legion, Flat Rock, IL and AMVETS Post #33.
