Mrs. Mary Ellen Dix Reynolds, age 96 of Robinson, IL passed away Wednesday August 28, 2019 at 1:05 AM at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL following a brief acute illness.

Born March 26, 1923 in Robinson, IL she was the daughter of Ralph V. “Pop” and Gertrude (Mace) Trimble.  On August 3, 1944 she married Boyd H. Dix and he preceded her in death April 18, 1996.  She married Howard “Buddy” Reynolds September 28, 2002 and he passed away December 14, 2007.

Mrs. Dix was a dry goods clerk at the Root Store in Robinson, IL for 30 years; was a retail clerk for Bertram’s Rexall Drug Store in Robinson for several years; was a Reading Tutor at Robinson Township Library for many years but her favorite job was rocking infants and young children at The Gingerbread House Daycare in Robinson.  She was also a Campfire and Blue Bird leader.  Her memberships include Crawford County Republican Women; Crawford County Memorial Chairman for American Cancer Society; Life member of the American Legion Auxiliary and former member of Crawford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Jan and Clark Pulliam, Robinson, IL, Debra Dix, Springfield, IL; two grandchildren, Jessica Molina, Gilbert AZ, Kiley Amber Dix, Springfield, IL and a great grandson, Ventura Molina, Phoenix, AZ as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Mary Ellen in death were her parents; husbands, Boyd H. Dix and Howard “Buddy” Reynolds; a son, David A. Dix, 2007; a grandson, David T. Pulliam, 2014; a half-sister, Patsy Ann Hill and a daughter-in-law, Maria Blanchard.

Funeral services will be Saturday August 31, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Rev. T.R. Akers officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM on Saturday until time of services at 2:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Interment will follow funeral services in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine, IL.

Memorials for Mrs. Reynolds may be made to the St. Judes Children’s Foundation or the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children with envelopes available at the funeral home.

I am so sorry of the loss of your mother! I am so blessed to have been given the chance to take care of her and get to know her while at Timber Creek! She was such a wonderful woman! Prayers for your family!

Jan we are so sorry to hear about Mary Ellen. She was a great aunt and always found time to visit her when we came home. She will be missed a lot

Jan, we were so sorry to learn of your mother's death. She was a lovely woman. .
When our son was a little boy, he loved to go to the Roots store to visit her. He thought she hung the moon, and I know there were dozens of other little ones who
felt the same.
