Mr. Charles Albert “Charlie” Baud, age 88 of Robinson, IL died Tuesday August 27, 2019 at 7:20 PM at the Magnolia Center of Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL, following several days of failing health.

Born August 12, 1931 in Honey Creek Township, Crawford County, IL the son of Albert S. and Dorothy May (Crum) Baud.  On May 7, 1954 he married Betsy Irene (Hanson) and she preceded him in death on October 6, 2015.

Charlie was a hard worker all his life.  He worked at Thordarson Meissner Electronics in Robinson, Ettelbrick Manufacturing (shoe factory) Robinson, was a lifelong member of Labor Local 1280, AFL-CIO and worked in the Crawford County oil fields. He also was a custodian for Community Unit #2 School District, Robinson where he drove a school bus for several years. Charlie farmed, raised livestock, loved gardening and especially loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Karla and Harold McKee, Robinson, IL, Anita Jo and Herb Phipps, Robinson, IL; grandchildren, Kylie McKee, Robinson, IL, Breyanna and Eric Weaver, Hutsonville, IL, Chrystal and Shannon White, Palestine, IL; great-grandchildren, Caleb McKee, Vance and Brody White, Ariana Weaver and Albany Irene McKee; a brother, Larry Joe Baud, Robinson, IL along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Betsy Irene Baud; brothers, Paul James Baud, Ray D. Baud; a sister, Alberta June Zellers and a grandson Chad Albert McKee.

There will be a graveside service held Saturday August 31, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Baud-McKee Cemetery, rural Robinson, IL.  Military graveside rites provided by the combined units of VFW Post #4549, Robinson, IL, E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion, Robinson, IL, Reavill Post #132, American Legion, Flat Rock, IL and AMVETS Post #33.

My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Baud's family at this time. He worked for my dad (Mr. Stitt) at Washington Grade School in Robinson for many years and I have many fond memories of him being there. I am sure that he, Orville Gaddis and Dad are having some great talks up there in Heaven. Rest in peace, Charlie. God Bless you all.
