MR. RICHARD D. GULLETT, AGE 81

Richard “Dick” Gullett, age 81 of Palestine, IL died Wednesday July 3, 2019 at 12:14 AM at Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL following several weeks of declining health.

Born November 30, 1937 in Palestine, IL he was the son of Medford D. and Esther L. (Hawkins) Gullett.  On May 23, 1958 he married Suzanne (Newlin) and she survives.  Richard worked as the Plant Manager Meisner Manufacturing, Hutsonville, IL and Jakel Incorporated, Palestine, IL. He retired from the US Air Force in 1976 with 21 years of service as a Senior Master Sergeant.  Richard was a member of the E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion, Robinson, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Gullett, Palestine, IL; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Clydell Gullett, Robinson, IL; a daughter, Debbie Hyre, Robinson, IL; grandchildren, Billy Aldrich, Whitney Gullett, Nikki and Ross Westdorp, Tony and Natasha Sterns, Tiffany and Dusty Brimberry; ten great grandchildren including, Dylan Hussey and Dereck Gullett and neighbor and best friend, Brian Burton and family, Palestine, IL.  Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, Tanya Gullett and family of Flat Rock, IL.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Donald W. Gullett, June 4, 2006; brothers, James W. Gullett, Robert S. Gullett and Tommy Lee Gullett and a son-in-law, Donnie Hyre, July 24, 2011.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday July 6, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Bro. Joe Griffith officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Memorial donations may be made to the Palestine Food Bank with envelopes available at the funeral home. Military funeral rites will be accorded by combined units of E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion, VFW Post #4549 and AMVETS Post #33 all of Robinson, IL.

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Dick. Randy and I both had the pleasure of working with Dick at Crawford Electronics in Robinson and then at Jakel, Inc in Palestine. He was one of the best bosses we ever had. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
