MRS. LINDA S. KENNEDY, AGE 70

Mrs. Linda S. Kennedy, age 70 of Flat Rock, IL died Tuesday June 18, 2019 at 3:04 PM at Select Specialty Hospital, Evansville, IN following Pituitary Gland Tumor removal.

Born September 12, 1948 in Robinson, IL she was the daughter of Wilbur and Dorothy (Dunlap) Wesley.  On June 15, 1968 she married Charles Herman Kennedy and he preceded her in death July 14, 2011.

Linda worked as a teller for First Robinson Savings Bank in Robinson, IL for 20 years, retiring in 2018.  She also worked for L.S. Heath and sons as a dispatcher and as a shipping and receiving clerk for Fair Rite Products, Robinson, IL; she worked in data processing for AmBank and Union Planters, Robinson, IL and she worked in the Deli at Snuff’s Red and White in Lawrenceville, IL with her longtime friend, Rachel McCullough.  She was a member of the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church, Flat Rock, IL.

Survivors include her daughter, Sarah L. Kennedy and Zeth Poettker, Robinson, IL; her fiancée Robert Brown, Robinson, IL; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard L. and Gaythal Wesley, Flat Rock, IL; John and Barbara Wesley, Flat Rock, IL; a sister-in-law, Helen Wesley, Chatham, IL along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Charles Kennedy and a brother, Philip Wesley in 2017.

The funeral service will be Sunday June 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Visitation will be Saturday June 22, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Linda S. Kennedy Memorial Fund for the benefit of several local charities with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Linda and I were good friends when we worked at Heaths in the 60’s. So sorry to hear of her passing. She was a very sweet person. So sorry for your loss.

Sara, I’m so sorry for your loss. Your Dad and my husband Bob, Worked together at
Marathon so that’s how we got acquainted with your Mom. We would talk in the bank every 2 weeks payday. She was always talking about you. She had a beautiful smile. we moved away around 7 yrs ago so I hadn’t seen her for awhile. I know you and all her close friends will miss her. She was a super lady missed our talks. She was always smiling

Sara, I am so sorry for your loss. I do remember Linda loved Ford Mustangs. I let her drive mine once. After that, she did not want to do that again. She will be missed.
