Larry W. Waldrop, “L.W.W.” age 79 of Robinson, IL died Friday October 19, 2018 at 4:21 AM EST at Union Hospital of Terre Haute, IN following a brief illness.

Born October 1, 1939 in Palestine, IL he was the son of Noble and Ruth (Gaddis) Waldrop.  On August 24, 1974 he married Toni (Horner) Waldrop and she survives.
Larry was proud to be a hard-working, self-made man.  He started his own business, Waldrop Masonry, not long after high school and continued to work and manage jobs well into his late seventies.  One of his favorite pastimes was reminiscing about the many buildings and houses that he built around Robinson, and the various injuries he sustained in doing so.  He was a member of the International Union of Brick Layers and Allied Craftworkers.  Fraternal Memberships include B.P.O. Elks #1188, Robinson, IL and the former Loyal Order of Moose #1369.

Survivors include his wife, Toni Waldrop, Robinson, IL; a son, Dustin Waldrop, Charleston, IL; daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Carl Westfall, Newburgh, IN, Kasey and Shane Robinson, Robinson, IL; former daughter-in-law, Jody Moore, Robinson, IL; eight grandchildren, Neyka and Josh Hanna, Robinson, IL, Landyn Shonk, Lyndee Shonk, Robinson, IL, Dalton Westfall, Newburgh, IN, Brookelynn Robinson, Channing Robinson, Quincy Robinson and Sloane Robinson, all of Robinson, IL; two great-grandchildren, Rodney Hanna, Rhett Hanna and another one on the way, Everley Hanna; a brother, Jerry Waldrop, Yukon, OK; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Steve Young, Robinson, IL, Sharon and Gerald Bricker, Hardinville, IL along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Rodney Wayne Waldrop, June 16, 1995; brothers, Charles Waldrop, James Waldrop and Ron Waldrop and a sister, Beverly Waldrop.
Larry enjoyed life and lived it to its fullest.  He had many hobbies over the years, some of which included telling long stories, making a mess in the kitchen, running his backhoe, working in his barn, taking vacations that included no rest or relaxation, plowing snow, playing cards (but only if he was winning), planning long and elaborate road trips for unsuspecting passengers, snowmobiling, chasing ambulances, riding bicycles backwards, “cuttin’ up and carryin’ on” with friends at the Elks, hoarding things that he planned to sell, and, most importantly, being with his friends, family, and especially his grandchildren.
Larry will be remembered as a busy man with an adventurous spirit and a lot of energy.  He never sat still, but would drop everything to lend a helping hand or to spend time with friends and family.  He always had an idea, a plan, or a scheme, not all of which worked out for the best, but were usually entertaining nonetheless.  Life with him was never dull.  In the wise words of one of his granddaughters, “he was so fun!”

The funeral service will be Thursday October 25, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Pastor Keith Gaddis officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday October 24, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Burial will follow services in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children with envelopes available at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please have a drink and tell a long story about L.W.W.  He would have appreciated that.
