Mr. James H. Corder, age 93 of Robinson, IL, passed away Friday October 12, 2018 at 5:00 AM at his residence in rural Robinson, IL following a period of declining health.

Born September 25, 1925 in Palestine, IL he was the son of Clarence Albert and Ella Catherine (Garrard) Corder.  On September 28, 1946 he married Opal M. Goff and she survives.

Jim served in the US Navy in WWII and Korea. In June 1951 he was recalled for 1 year and 6 months in the Navy.  He retired from the Briggs Mfg. Company as a caster after working there for 42 years and was also a retired farmer.  Jim was a Sunday School superintendent, Deacon, Trustee, church training leader and taught junior high boys and girls classes as well as adult classes. Jim loved farming, fishing and going to his children’s, grandchildren’ and great grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities.  

Survivors include his wife Opal M. Corder, two sons and daughter-in-law, Larry Corder, Robinson, IL, Gary and Debbie Corder, Robinson, IL; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Gene Fox Jr., LeRoy, IL, Carol and Jerry McConnell, Allendale, IL, Mary and Gary Gaddis, Bowling Green, KY, Karen McCray and Bobby Batchelor, Cochran, GA; a sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Harry Redman, Palestine, IL; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Maxine Richey, Norma Connelly, Ann Miller; a daughter-in-law, Dinah Corder in 2013 and a grandson, Gene Fox III “Geno” in 1988.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday October 14, 2018 at 5:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with visitation from 2:00 PM until time of service at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Lincoln Land Hospice, or Duncanville Missionary Baptist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
