Geneva (Riegle) Menacher, 87, of Oblong, IL passed away on Sunday September 30, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.

She was born in Jasper County on May 7, 1931 to George and Carrie (Noe) Riegle. On August 29, 1952 she married Earnest Lee Menacher who preceded her in death.

Geneva was a housewife and mother.  She was a member of the South Bend Congregational Church and the Westside Church of God in Robinson, IL.  She attended the South Bend Elementary School and graduated from Oblong High School. She received her teaching certificate from Eastern Illinois University.  Geneva enjoyed crocheting, painting, reading and traveling, especially to the Smokey Mountains.  She also loved to cook for her husband and family.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Steven and Janet Menacher, Oblong, IL; a daughter Janet Menacher Matheney, Sterling, IL; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a cousin Edna Riegle, of the Bend; former son-in-law Eric Matheney and former daughter-in-law Susan Menacher.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, sons Ronald Menacher and Richard Menacher, a grandson Joshua Menacher and a sister Evelyn Riegle.

A Celebration of Geneva’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday October 4, 2018 at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday October 3, 2018 at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that an expression of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Westside Church of God.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL. 62449.

Dear Janet and family
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother. I have so many fond memories of her from our Camp Fire Girl days to the volleyball court. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
