Mr. Maurice L. Williamson, age 90 of Robinson, IL died Wednesday June 27, 2018 at 5:30 AM at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL following a short period of declining health.

Born November 12, 1927 in Oblong, IL he was the son of McKenley “Bud” and Cora (Callahan) Williamson.  On November 17, 1951 he married Melva (Tohill) and she survives.

Following his High School Graduation, Maurice enlisted in the US Army and served from March 14, 1946 to May 14, 1947. In the late 1950’s and into the early 1960’s Maurice was a telegrapher for the New York Central Railroad. Following that, he went to work for Heath (Leaf) Candy Company, Robinson, IL in the chocolate products line until he retired in 1992.  He was a member of the E.M. Coulter Post # 69, American Legion, Robinson, IL; VFW #4549 and AMVets Post #33; served as a Scout Master for the Boy Scout Troop 901 and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers as well as the St. Louis Cardinals.

Survivors include his wife, Melva Williamson, Robinson, IL; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry L. Williamson, Robinson, IL, Ricky D. and Mary Williamson, Robinson, IL, Gregory “Scott” and Tammy Williamson, Robinson, IL, Kevin D. and Dara Williamson, Robinson, IL, Kyle L. Williamson, Alexandria, LA; a daughter, Cindy L. Schernekau, Robinson, IL; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and a sister, Evelyn Louise Williamson, Robinson, IL.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a grandchild, Shane Williamson in 2004 and a sister, Rosemary Graham in 2016.

The Funeral Service will be Saturday June 30, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Bro. Joe Griffith officiating.  Visitation will be Friday June 29, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Following funeral services, cremation rites will be accorded, interment will be in the Tohill Cemetery, rural Flat Rock, IL, with military graveside rites provided by E.M. Coulter Post # 69 American Legion,Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 4547 and AMVETS Post #33

Memorial donations may be made to the VFW Transportation Fund #4549 with envelopes available at the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear of Maurice's passing. Many, many wonderful memories made at Westlake with the Williamsons. May God bless and keep you wrapped in his loving arms through this difficult time.
