Mr. Glen A. Rodgers, age 93 of Robinson, IL, died Friday July 21, 2017 at 11:03 PM at his home of an apparent heart attack.

Born January 27, 1924 in Honey Creek Township, Crawford County, IL he was the son of Lot and Margaret (Painter) Rodgers.  Glen was an RTHS Graduate with the Class of 1942 and went on to enlist in the U. S. Navy. He served as a SeaBee in the Navy and there he learned his life skills. On December 20, 1988 he married Mary K. (Knoblett) Rodgers and she survives.  

Glen attended Robinwood Assembly of God Church, Robinson, IL.  Glen received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 24 and became a member of the New Hebron United Brethren Church which later became the New Hebron Independent Baptist Church, where he was faithful in attending and served as a trustee, deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years.  Glen was a former member of VFW Post #4549, Robinson, IL as well as a former member of Crawford County Gideons’ Camp.  He owned and operated Rodgers Construction Company for 40 years.  He built and remodeled homes for many Crawford County families.  

Survivors include his wife, Mary Rodgers, Robinson, IL; three step-sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Rodgers, Vincennes, IN, Steven Rodgers, Olney, IL, Gregory and Kelly Rodgers, Robinson, IL; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Don Richart, Robinson, IL; a sister-in-law, Edith Rodgers, Flat Rock, IL along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Orvel P. Rodgers, Wilbur Rodgers and Kenneth Rodgers; sisters, Mary Leo McClure, Garnet Richeson and Daisy Dollahan; two grandsons, Jeffrey Rodgers and Joshua Rodgers.

Funeral service will be Wednesday July 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Celebrants Jason Safirt and Don Richart officiating.  Friends may call from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at 2:00 PM on Wednesday July 26, 2017 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Interment will follow funeral services in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine, IL with graveside military rites provided by E.M. Coulter Post, American Legion, Amvets and VFW.

Memorial donations may be made to the Robinwood Assembly of God with envelopes available at the funeral home.
