Mr. Wendell H. “Windy” Culp, age 92 of Robinson, IL, died Tuesday July 4, 2017 at 1:51 PM EST at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN following many months of deteriorating health.

Born March 1, 1925 in Parker Township, Westfield, (Clark County), IL, he was the son of Virgil Harry and Serena “Peach” (Rairdin) Culp.  On November 17, 1946, he married Mary Etta (Tyler) and she preceded him in death January 4, 2000.

Wendell was a Foreman in Production, south end, with Marathon Oil Company, Robinson, IL, retired in 1983; served in the U.S. Navy, WWII; member of the Robinwood Assembly of God Church, Robinson, IL where he participated in many volunteer activities.  He was formerly a 3rd Degree Mason and Past Master of his Lodge in 1968; member Loyal Order of the Moose #1369, Robinson, IL and member of the Order of Eagles, Aerie #3329, Palestine, IL.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Kathleen Culp, Terre Haute, IN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah J. and Wayne Boyd, Robinson, IL, Winetta K. and Mark Wilson, Robinson, IL; eight grandchildren and spouses, Tami and Mike Ochs, Robinson, IL, Nicole and Doug Siskey, Cheyenne, WY, Brad and Laura Boyd, Robinson, IL, Brian and Julie Culp, Atlanta, GA, Shanna Marie and Ryan Webb, Oakland, CA, Jody Leigh Wilson, Robinson, IL,  Stephanie Trimble, Marshall, IL, Matthew Lamb, Terre Haute, IN and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Mary Etta Culp in 2000; three brothers, Doit Eugene Culp, Victor Hugh Culp and one infant brother; a sister, Velma Brewer.

Funeral service will be Saturday July 8, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL, with Pastor Jason Safirt officiating.  Visitation will be Friday July 7, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Burial will be in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery, Casey, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital Foundation or the WWII Museum, New Orleans, LA with envelopes available at the funeral home.

I will miss this dear gentleman, I enjoyed taking care of him, he was light of my day when I would come into work and see him and listen to what he had to say and show me of his WW2 books! I am sorry to hear of his passing and will dearly miss him. To his family I love you all and hope to see you guys once in awhile, My prayers are with you always.
