Mrs. Yola S. Ackman, age 85, of Palm Bay, FL and formerly of Robinson, IL, died Saturday January 7, 2017 at 00:57 AM at Inspired Living of Palm Bay, Palm Bay, FL, following several months of declining health.

Born December 29, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Robert and Ann (Soskin) Cohen.  On March 5, 1949 she married Richard L. “Dick” Ackman.  He preceded her in death January 26, 2014.  

Yola Co-owned and operated R. L. Ackman Co., Oblong, IL and the Hobby Hearth in Robinson, IL.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Robinson, IL and member of the Oblong American Legion Auxiliary and Oak Glenn Golf Course, Robinson, IL.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richie and Cindy Ackman, Grant, FL; daughter, Vicki Hart, Palm Bay, FL; five grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Yola was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard L. “Dick” Ackman  a and son-in-law, Donald L. Hart

The family will host a Celebration of Life in honor of both Richard and Yola Ackman to be held in July 2017.  Place and time to be announced when arrangements are completed.

Rich, Vicki & family,

Rich, Cindy, Vicki and families....sorry for the loss of your mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and best friend Yola. My heart breaks for you. I am glad I had the privilege of meeting her and will always have fond memories. May your special memories help you through this difficult time...

I'm so sorry for your loss, and send my condolences. This is one of the hardest times in a family's life, always know that others care. Most important God cares. He has promised a time when he will "swallow up death forever and he will wipe the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25:8) Praying for your family, and praying you will find comfort in this promise
