Mr. Richard L. Dedrick, age 90, of Robinson, IL, died Wednesday November 30, 2016 at 10:50 PM at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Robinson, IL, following many months of failing health.

Born February 24, 1926 in Oblong, IL, he was the son of Raymond D. and Irene (Taylor) Dedrick.  On July 27, 1947 he married Wilma “Jean” (Gullett) and she survives.

Richard served in the United States Navy during World War II and was employed with Marathon Petroleum, Robinson, IL as an Operator, Catalytic Cracker for 40 years.  He was a member of the VFW Post #4549; E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion; AmVets Post #33; Loyal Order of Moose, Robinson, IL; Elks Lodge, Robinson, IL.  His hobbies included Modified Race Cars and Quarter Midget Race Cars.  

Survivors include his wife, Wilma “Jean” Dedrick, Robinson, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Wayne and Debbie Dedrick Sr., Palestine, IL; daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Kenneth Cardwell, Sioux City, IA; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond Cleon and Sheila Dedrick, Apple Valley, CA; sister-in-law, Deloris Dedrick, Robinson, IL; seven grandchildren, Greg and Michelle Dedrick, Jr., Palestine, IL; Jason L. and Hallie Dedrick, Fairview, TN, Matthew and Holly Cardwell, West Point NE; Laurie and Tim Hendricks, Sioux City, IA; Jessica and Nathan Springfield, Sioux City IA; Christopher W. Dedrick, Hutsonville, IL; Michelle and Bill Plew, Hutsonville, IL; eighteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Larry Allen Dedrick and Robert Dedrick.

Funeral services will be Monday December 5, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Visitation will be Sunday December 4, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL. Military Funeral Rites will be accorded by E.M. Coulter Post # 69, American Legion and VFW Post # 4549 both of Robinson, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to the Robinson Food Pantry – Soup Kitchen, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Dedrick Family, The Robinson family and I send our deepest condolences. It was truly a blessing to know Mr Dedrick and for Mom/Dad Robinson to live across the street from them. May you rest in peace sir.
