Mrs. Norma J. “Jean” Seed, age 90, of Robinson, IL, died Saturday June 11, 2016 in the comfort and care of the Charleston Rehabilitation and Health Care, Charleston, IL.

Born January 3, 1926 in Sullivan County, IN, she was the daughter of Charles Crapo and Cora Leann (Clemens) Thornberry.  In 1946 she married Harold Lee Ewing, and he preceded her in death in 1952.  In 1953 she married Jack Warren Seed who preceded her in death in 1997.  

Mrs. Seed was a bookkeeper for several local companies and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Jean was an avid reader and was a diligent gardener.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Donald “Don” and Anita Ewing, Edgewater, MD; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy E. Brewer, Charleston, IL; Rhonda K. and Robert Buckman, Schroeder, MN; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren, plus one on the way; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles Kenneth and Susan Thornberry, Chesterfield, MO; sister, Mrs. Shirley Scaggs, Lowell, IN, along with many, many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Harold Lee Ewing in 1952; husband, Jack Warren Seed in 1997; a brother, Gerald Thornberry in 1983 and a brother-in-law, Donald Hugh Scaggs, 2005.

Funeral services will be Saturday June 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL, with Pastor Jay Regennitter officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Burial will follow funeral services in the Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, IL.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Veteran’s Transportation Fund c/o Robinson VFW Post #4549, 712 E. Main Street, Robinson, IL.

Donald, Kathy, and Rhonda,
I was so sad when I read about your mom.

I have some wonderful memories of riding my bike over to your house to play.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. It's funny, when I think of her, I see her at the dining room table with her coffee working on portraits from the photo shop. Blessings to you and yours.
