Mr. John H. “Jack” Storckman, age 89, of Robinson, IL, died Friday April 29, 2016 at 5:25 PM at the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville, IL, following many months of failing health.

Born October 26, 1926 in Robinson, IL, he was the son of Glen LeRoy and Nettie E. (Smith) Storckman.  On November 10, 1963 he married Betty Jean (Albin) and she survives.  

Jack served in the United States Army WWII and Korea.  He retired from the Marathon Oil Refinery Machine Shop after 34 years of employment and was a member of the Marathon Refinery Fire Suppression Team for many years.  He was a member, Elder, Deacon, Trustee and Sunday School Teacher at 1st Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Robinson, IL, for many years; volunteered at the Robinson Food Pantry; was a volunteer fireman with the Robinson Township Fire Department for 34 years and a member of the E.M. Coulter Post #69 of the American Legion, Robinson, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Storckman, Robinson, IL; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael L. and Sandi Huff, Ashburn, VA; Timothy E. and Kathy Huff, Mesa, AZ; daughters and son-in-law, Ginger and Roger Beck, Hardinville, IL; Deborah Deel, LaFayette, IN; sister-in-law, Mrs. Madelyn Storckman, Robinson, IL; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and two nephews and one niece also survive.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two grandsons, Ryan Pinkston and Jonathan Deel; two brothers, Robert “Bob” Storckman and J.O. Storckman.

Twilight Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday May 4, 2016 at 7:00 PM with Pastor Amy Wharton and Rev. T.R. Akers officiating.  Friends may call at Pulliam Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until time of services at 7:00 PM.  Interment will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL, at a later date.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Storckman’s memory may be made to the Robinson Food Pantry or to the Robinson Fire Department with envelopes available at the funeral home.
