Mr. George R. Dunlap, age 75, of Ethridge, TN, formerly of Hammond, IN and Crawford County, IL, passed away on Sunday February 1, 2015 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital, Nashville, TN, following a brief period of illness.

Born June 26, 1939 in Flat Rock, IL, he was the son of George and Ellen E. (Spyker) Dunlap.  In July 1972, he married Jacqueline S. “Jackie” (Mathews) and she survives.  George worked as a Boilermaker and Welder in Lake County, Hammond, IN, Local #374 and served in the U.S. Marines Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Dunlap, Ethridge, TN; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy and Jen Dunlap, Chattanooga, TN; Jonathon and Sheona Dunlap, Mitchell, SD;  daughter and son-in-law, Janna and Steve Postol, Ethridge, TN; brothers and spouses, James and Sandy Dunlap, Robinson, IL; Charles Dunlap, Chesteron, IN; sister-in-law, Judy Dunlap, Benzonia, MI; sisters and spouses, Sarah and Bob Shidler, Robinson, IL; Mrs. Doris LaBuda, St. John, IN; Naomi and Brian Leatherwood, Indianapolis, IN; Janice Shelton, Valparaiso, IN; two grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, John Dunlap and sisters, Ann Cox and Nancy Dunlap.

Funeral services will be Saturday February 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL, with Rev. Arlace Duncan officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday February 7, 2015 from 11:00 AM until time of services at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Hardinville Cemetery, Hardinville, IL.  Military graveside rites provided by E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion; VFW Post #4549 and AmVets Post #33.

Memorial donations may be made to the George R. Dunlap Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.

George will forever be in our hearts and memories. Thankful for our last call with George. He was the best brother in law there could ever be, a heart of gold who will be missed dearly.

It is a sad day to hear of George's passing.I had the pleasure of working with George many times...he was a great partner,strong as a bull,a good man and always dependable brother boilermaker.Rest in peace my friend and hope to cross your path again, on the other shore.
