Mr. Ernest A. “Ernie” Wilson, age 88, of Robinson, IL, died Sunday January 19, 2015 at 12:37 PM at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL, following several weeks of failing health.

Born January 6, 1927 in Robinson Township, Trimble, IL, he was the son of Alva and Ruby (Higgins) Wilson.  On July 6, 1946 he married Floy L. (Glick) and she survives.

Ernie was employed as a Tool and Die Maker, Shelbyville, IL and Taylorville, IL.  Ernie developed special Dies for manufacturing Grain Bin Floors and was also sought after to speak at conferences of Machinists and Tool and Die Makers.  When asked about his education he said he graduated “Trimble Tech” referring to Trimble Grade School.

Ernie attended the New Hope Baptist Church, Robinson, IL.

Survivors include, wife, Floy L. Wilson, Oblong, IL, (formerly of Robinson, IL), brother and sister-in-law, Emmerson and Kay Wilson, LaPorte, IN; sisters, Mrs. Edna Montgomery, Newburgh, IN; Mrs. Esther Fear, Oblong, IL; Mrs. Eleanor Reynolds, Mahomet, IL; sister-in-law and spouse, Sheri and Bob Sands, Shelbyville, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Mrs. Elsie Marlin; Enid Williamson; infant sister, Eva Dale Wilson.

Funeral service will be Wednesday January 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL, with Pastor George Meese officiating.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home in Robinson.  Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to the Residents Activity Fund, Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL.
