Mr. William S. “Bill” Holloway, age 85, of Robinson, IL, died Thursday May 29, 2014 at 1:00 AM at the Heritage Health Care (Cotillion Ridge) in Robinson, IL, following several months of failing health.

Born February 27, 1929 in Perry County, IN, the son of William Setser and Madelyn Ruth (Park) Holloway.  On April 30, 1949 he married Rita (York) and she preceded him in death November 30, 1999.  He later married Shirley J. (Reed) on July 7, 2000 and she passed away July 26, 2008.  

Bill was employed by the Robinson Daily News for 52 years and was Pressman and printing plant supervisor for many years.

Mr. Holloway was a member of the First Baptist Church, Robinson, IL; proud member of the Crawford County Democratic Party; Democratic Party Central Committee Chairman, a precinct committeeman, and active in State and local politics most of his life.  Bill was also president of the Board of Directors of the Embarrass River Basin Agency for many years.  Mr. Holloway was active in his church and community and was a food pantry volunteer for many years.

Survivors include a son, Wayne A. Holloway, Robinson, IL; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Johnnie Hamlet, Jonesboro, GA; Karen and Michael Biggs, Maineville, OH; three step-daughters, Rita Rogene and Rick Nuxoll, Centralia, IL; Dianna and Kevin Woods, Olney, IL; Beth Binder, Robinson, IL; five grandchildren, Mindy and Roy LeFevre, McDonough, GA; Darren and Dea Mikeworth, Robinson, IL; Jason and Stephanie Holloway, Robinson, IL; Bradley and Ashley Biggs, Maineville, OH; Amanda and Cory Loftis, Robinson, IL; ten great-grandchildren, Nikki LeFevre; Kaitlyn LeFevre; Joshua LeFevre; Evan LeFevre; Terynn Loftis; Ryan Mikeworth; Connor Mikeworth; Trenton Williams; Ryan Biggs and Christopher Biggs; brother and spouse, Harold and Carolyn Sloan, Sumner, IL; sister-in-law, Mildred Sloan and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wives, Rita (York) Holloway and Shirley J. (Reed) Holloway; a grandson Ryan Biggs and a brother Norman Sloan.

Funeral service will be Tuesday June 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL, with Pastor Bessie Adams officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM.   Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Robinson Food Pantry.
