Mrs. Helen “Irene” Draper, age 95, of Hutsonville, Illinois, died Thursday February 13, 2014 at 12:10 am at the Burnsides Community Health Center, Marshall, Illinois, following several years of failing health.

Born January 8, 1919 in Hutsonville, Illinois, she was the daughter of Elmer A. and Pearl (Hightshoe) Lowe.  On March 28, 1937 she married Howard S. Draper, and he preceded her in death November 14, 1994.

Irene was a homemaker; a member of the Hutsonville Christian Church, Hutsonville, Illinois; member of the Royal Neighbors of America and the Hutsonville Canasta Club.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, L. Jean and Maurice Wernz, West Union, Illinois; Linda June and Gale Gower, Hutsonville, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Draper, Sullivan, Indiana; six grandchildren, Jeff McCrory; Johnny Bill Draper; Jennifer and Randy Parker; Joene and Murray Wheeler; Eugene and Kari Gower; Mike and Julie Kraemer; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a brother Sam Lowe; a sister, Fern Smith of Indiana; a sister-in-law, Lucille Thompson, Hutsonville, Illinois; a half-brother and a half-sister along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Howard Scotton Draper; a daughter, Janet Cannady November 16, 2013; a son-in-law, Ed Cannady, February 1, 2014; brothers, Bill, Howard, Jim, Bob, Les and John and a sister, Marie Smith.

Funeral service will be Monday February 17, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Hutsonville, Illinois with Bro. Bill Wilkinson officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday February 16, 2014 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at Pulliam Funeral Home, Hutsonville, Illinois.  Burial will be in the Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, Illinois.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hutsonville Christian Church, Hutsonville, Illinois or Hospice of Lincolnland, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
