Lois Humphrey, 88, Newburgh, Indiana and formerly of Jasper County, Illinois passed away at 4:10 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at the VNA Charlier Hospice Center, Evansville, Indiana.

Born in Hunt City, Illinois on January 16, 1925, she was the daughter of Vonnie A. Ragon and
Inez M. (Alexander) Ragon. She was employed with F. W. Means, Commercial Laundry, Peoria, Illinois and E. R. Moore Garment Factory, Newton, Illinois. She was of the Baptist faith.Lois was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Delavan, Illinois and Royal Neighbors of America.

On October 6, 1973, Lois married Robert M. Humphrey, who preceded her in death in 1999. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Roger Yockey, January 13, 1996; two sisters, Ilene Currie and Henrietta Burgund; three brothers, Harold, Willie F. and Leon Ragon.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Clovis & Nancy Yockey, Newburgh, Indiana; a step-son, Loren Humphrey, Texas; three step-daughters, Kathy Newlin, St. Petersburg, Florida, Karen & Les Wernz, Hutsonville, Illinois and Susan & Keith Schmidgall, Mackinaw, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Mona & Grant Neidigh, LaGrange, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren and 5 great-great-grandson; a brother and sister-in-law, Bobby K. & Joann Ragon, West Plains, Missouri; a sister and brother-in-law, Iola & Hubert Nanneman, Macon, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Loren & Janice Humphrey, Missouri and Rev. Richard & Nona Humphrey, St. Petersburg, Florida.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois with Pastor Winston Ragon officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois. Visitation is 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 and 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning until time of service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Mound Church or the Charlier Hospice Center with envelopes at or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home, P.O. Box 121, Oblong, Illinois 62449.
