Life Legacy

Mr. Glain W. Lingafelter, age 96, of Terre Haute, Indiana, formerly of Hutsonville, Illinois, passed away Wednesday February 13, 2013 at 4:00 PM at the Davis Gardens Health Center, Terre Haute, Indiana, following a period of declining health.

He was born May 5, 1916 in Annapolis, Illinois, the son of James C. and Alice (Shanks) Lingafelter. On June 6, 1942 he married Evelyn "Irene" (Wolfe) Lingafelter and she survives.

He graduated Hutsonville High School in 1934; held diplomas from Chicago Technical College, Architectural Drafting and ICS Mechanical Engineering. He was employed at the CIPS Generating Station Hutsonville, IL, as a Results Engineer retiring in 1978. Served in the US Army Infantry during WWII; member of the Hutsonville Methodist Church, Hutsonville, Illinois; 50 plus year member of the AF & M 250, Robinson, IL; E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion, Robinson, Illinois; Member of the Wabash Valley Camera Club, Terre Haute, Indiana and the Photographic Society of America.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Lingafelter, Terre Haute, Indiana; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra S. and Brian Huber, Lewis Center, Ohio; Alice Jane and Phillip Stephens, Batesville, Indiana; five grandchildren, Clayton and Kristen Huber, Tipp City, Ohio; Justin Huber, Hedgesville, West Virginia; Robert and Emily Huber, New Palestine, Indiana; Joseph and Tisha Stephens, Louisville, Kentucky; Gavin and Amy Stephens, Louisville, Kentucky; five great-grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew. Preceding him in death were his parents and one nephew.

Funeral services will be Friday February 15, 2013 at 2:30 pm at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Hutsonville, Illinois with the Rev. Sandra Huber officiating. Visitation will be Friday February 15, 2013 from 1:00 PM until time of services at 2:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, rural Annapolis, Illinois.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley or the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.

So sorry to hear this news. They lived "out on the hill" being neighbors of my parents. Glain was always known for his beautiful garden! My prayers are with you.
