Mr. John A. Vinyard, age 88, died Tuesday December 14, 2010 at Crawford County Convalescent Center, Robinson, IL, following a long period of declining health. Born February 9, 1922 in Harrisburg, IL, he was the son of Lucian and Effie (Schroll) Vinyard. On June 22, 1946 he married Wyota June (Lamar) Vinyard, and she survives. He was employed as a Shift Supervisor for Central Illinois Public Service Company, (Hutsonville Power Plant). John was a member of the 1st Baptist Church, Hutsonville, IL and a Deacon and Trustee for many years; member of the E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion, Robinson, IL, and organized the first Cub Scout Pack in Hutsonville.

John is survived by his wife, Wyota "June" Vinyard; a daughter and son-in-law, Trudy Lee and Charles Zurn, Palestine, IL; two grandchildren, Cassandra "Cassie",Silverdale, WA, Michael Zurn, Evansville, IN; sister-in-law, Sally Vinyard, Paris, IL; several nieces and nephews including 2 nephews, Curtis McCormick and Stephen McCormick.

John was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Wm "Bill" Vinyard in 2008; a sister, Wanda McCormick in 2006 and a nephew, Daniel McCormick in 2009.

Visitation will be Thursday December 16, 2010 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Hutsonville, IL with funeral services Friday December 17 at 10:30 am at Pulliam Funeral Home, Hutsonville, IL, with Rev. Norman Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Hutsonville Cemetery.
