Life Legacy

Dorothy M. Matheny, age 81, of Robinson, Illinois, died Sunday July 10, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Indiana, following a brief illness. She was born April 27, 1930 in Owensboro, Kentucky, the daughter, of John E. and Flora D. (Rippy) Williams. In February of 1950 she married Donald D. Matheny and he preceded her in death March 10, 1992. Dorothy was a School Bus Driver for 8 years; worked for the Ettlebrick Shoe Company for 5 years and was Homemaker. Her memberships include VFW Auxiliary, Memorial Club and Women of the Moose.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Ron Blaha, Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Hope Lynn and Garry Wilson, Robinson, Illinois; Eric and Lindsey Blaha, St. Charles, Missouri; great grandchildren, Tayler Faith Wilson, Robinson, Illinois, Carson and Eli Blaha, St. Charles, Missouri, plus one on the way; and a cousin, Mike Rippy, Robinson, Illinois.

Funeral services will be Saturday July 16, 2011 at 2:30 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois, with Bro. Jerry Wilson officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:30 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the VFW Transportation Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.

I was so sorry to read about your Mom. What a lovely lady she was. Remember her percing my ears with a needle thread and ice cube. Butch and I always visited with her at the VFW when we were in Robinson. She will be missed.
