Life Legacy

Mrs. Lois E. Boyd, age 88 of Willow Hill, Illinois, died Thursday December 1, 2011, at Greenville Regional Hospital, Greenville, Illinois. She was born November 25, 1923, the daughter of Lewis Shryock and Eva (Musgrave) Shryock. On August 2, 1941 she married Pearl Junior Boyd, and he preceded her in death May 6, 1976. Lois helped her husband farm and was a housewife and caregiver. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church, rural Jasper County, Illinois; Bethany Women's Fellowship; former 4-H Leader; taught Bible School and Sunday School at Bethany Christian Church. She loved crocheting and knitting; attended all her grandkid's and great-grandkid's school events until her health failed.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly Laino, Willow Hill, Illinois, Barbara and Charlie McCoy, Willow Hill, Illinois, Boneva Wamser, Greenville, Illinois, Brinda and Bill Powers, Gastonia, North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Evelyn Shryock, Elgin, Illinois, Halleck and Sonja Shryock, Jonesboro, Louisiana, Freda and Carl Lewis, Tucson, Arizona and Rose Hill, Illinois; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death, her parents; husband; four grandchildren, Antonio and Ernico Laino and Melissa and John Thomas Stifle; a brother, Harold Shryock; a sister, Lela Mae Stough and two sons-in-law, Charles Colwell and Joseph Laino.

Funeral services will be Monday December 5, 2011 at 10:30 am at Bethany Christian Church, rural Jasper County, Illinois with Bro. Ken Slisher and Bro. Phil Boyd officiating. Visitation will be Sunday December 4, 2011 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois. Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bethany Christian Church or Oblong Children's Christian Home with envelopes available at the funeral home and church or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home, P.O. Box 121, Oblong, Illinois 62449.
