Mrs. Donna M. Bailey, age 81, of Oblong, Illinois, died Tuesday December 27, 2011 at the Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, Illinois. She was born April 5, 1930 in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of Espy Wilby and Bonnie Alice (Hale) Waldrop. On October 25, 1947, she married Donald Eugene Bailey and he survives. Donna was a homemaker; a Nurse's Aid at Allen Sanitarium; Waitress at the Highway Cafe, Oblong, Illinois and later was employed at L.S. Heath and Son Candy Factory. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Oblong, Illinois; American Legion Auxiliary Post #69 and former member of the Women of the Moose. Donna liked to read, cook, knit, watch TV and travel as well as helping others learn how to read and do math.

Survivors include her husband, Donald E. Bailey, Oblong, Illinois; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Lydia Bailey, Willow Hill, Illinois, Van and Sharon Bailey, Mason, Michigan; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and David Bennett, Pleasanton, California; nine grandchildren, Kyle and Tawnya Bailey, Kirk and Kendra Bailey, Darice Bailey, David Shawn Chamblin, Michelle and Kenny Brown, Marci and Chad Crandall, Sandy and Paual Kreps, Chris and Melody Bennett, Kelli and Ryan Cooke; fourteen great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Carol Waldrop, Barling, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Harold "Pud" Fry, Joppa, Illinois and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Delores Harris and Patty Fry; one brother-in-law, Gene Harris.

Funeral services will be Friday December 30, 2011 at 10:30 am at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois with Rev. Howard Bell officiating. Visitation will be Thursday December 29, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois. Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Oblong Grade School Library or the Oblong Children's Christian Home with envelopes available at the funeral home.
