Mr. Chester Steven "Sonny" Browder, age 65, of Farmersburg, Indiana, formerly of Cullman, Alabama, died Tuesday February 14, 2012 at Sullivan Community Hospital, Sullivan, Indiana, following an apparent Respiratory Collapse at his home.

He was born August 17, 1946 in St. Mary's, Ohio, the son of Paul and Bonnie E. (Vanover) Browder. On April 18, 1970, he married Rebecca A. "Becky" Browder and she survives. Sonny was employed as a Maintenance / Mechanic for SCI, in Arab Alabama until August of 2011. He served in the US Army in Vietnam; member of the Olive Grove Baptist Church, Martinsville, Illinois; former Jr. Vice Commander, VFW Post #2214, Cullman, Alabama; member American Legion Post #4, Cullman, Alabama.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca A. "Becky" Browder, Farmersburg, Indiana; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Vicki Browder, Cullman, Alabama; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Darrell Roberts, Hutsonville, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Matthew Roberts, Mikey Roberts, Tyler Roberts, Nicki Roberts, Jerrami Browder, Madison Browder, Kyle Browder; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Sharon Browder, Ocala, Florida, Albert "Duke" and Brenda Browder, Decatur, Alabama, Lester E. :Bucko" Browder, Oklahoma, Boyd L. "Tyke" and Arlene Browder, Cullman, Alabama, Norman "Turk" and Ginger Browder, Cullman, Alabama; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ben Engle, Celina, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a half brother, Bill A. Boltz.

Graveside committal of Cremated Remains will be Saturday February 18, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, Illinois with Bro. Randy Nave officiating. There will be Military graveside rites provided by Crawford County Veterans organizations. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America fund.

Sorry to hear of Sonny's death. Didn't hear in time to come to services. But remember the goodtimes had with Sonny at work, and lots of hard work and long hours he worked so we could continue on. Take care and our prayers are with you at this time Del and Vicki

We are sorry for all the family's lose.Sonny was a great guy and will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved him. He was always laughing and picking on me. He had an infectious out look on life,more people should be so lucky to enjoy life like he did.Rest In Peace Friend. You will never be forgotten you was more like family than not.
