Mr. Johnny Lee Elkins, age 81 of Robinson, Illinois, died Tuesday March 13, 2012 at 11:45 pm following several months of failing health. Born August 15, 1930, in Robinson, Illinois, the son of Noah and Effie (McWilliams) Elkins. On April 20, 1963 he married Iris Joan (Davidson) and she survives. They later divorced and he married Rose (Smith) Elkins and she preceded him in death. Johnny was a retired mechanic, he worked for Refiner's Transport and for Sparks and Sons, Oblong, Illinois; served as a member of the 5th Infantry Ranger Company of the Korean War; was a member of the Farina Lutheran Church; VFW #4549 Live Member; AF & AM 250, Robinson Masonic Lodge; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Danville, AINAD Shrine Temple, Valley of St. Louis.

Survivors include, former wife, Joan Elkins, Oblong, Illinois; son and daughter-in-law, Scott R. and Susan Elkins, Casey, Illinois; daughters and sons-in-law, Debby and Butch Knicley, Oblong, Illinois, Lisa and Mike Rowe, Robinson, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Rose (Smith) Elkins; three brothers, Bill Elkins, Ott Elkins, Ellis Elkins; one sister, Rosa Mae Fallart.

Funeral services will be Saturday March 17, 2012 at 11:00 am at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois with Bro. Jerry McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the services. Burial will be in the Oblong City Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois. There will be military graveside rites provided by EM Coulter Post #69, VFW Post #4549, Reavill Post #132, American Legion Flat Rock, IL, AmVets Post #33. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.
