Charles M. Davis

February 7, 1915 - April 24, 2012

Mr. Charles M. Davis, age 97, rural Robinson, Illinois, died Tuesday April 24, 2012 at his residence in Robinson, Illinois. He was born February 7, 1915 near Stoy, in Crawford County, Illinois, the son of John Claude and Arizona Maude Della (Morgan) Davis. Charles was a farmer all his life; was a member of the First Christian Church, Oblong, Illinois; Graduate of Oblong Township High School, Class of 1933; Elder at the Oblong First Christian Church for many years; taught Sunday School for Junior High and High School boys for several years; Drew the plans for the First Christian Church on a paper sack; member of the Crawford County Farm Bureau and several farm organizations; served on several farm boards; 4-H leader for many years and loved gospel music and sang in several quartet's.

Survivors include three great-nieces, Mindy Buerskins, Megan Smith and Emily Davis; one Great-Nephew, Nickoulas Davis; special friends and caregivers, Kelly and Crystal Davis and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene A. and Frances Davis; a sister, Catherine Davis and two nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday April 27, 2012 at 11:00 am at the First Christian Church, Oblong, Illinois with Bro. Dee Wolfe and Steve Allen officiating. Visitation will be Thursday April 26, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois, and one hour prior to time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church Youth Department or Oblong Children's Christian Home with envelopes available at the funeral home.
