Maxine Miler, age 90 of Oblong, Illinois, died Saturday April 28, 2012 at her residence, Oblong, Illinois. Born February 2, 1922, in Crawford County, Illinois, she was the daughter of Edward and Hattie (Watts) Fritz. On July 28, 1943 she married Floyd Eugene Miller, and he preceded her in death June 28, 2009. Maxine graduated at the top of her class from Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and was the Director of Nursing at Crawford County Convalescent Center, Robinson, Illinois; a Registered Nurse at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois, retiring in 1979; and was a member of the White Oak Christian Church, rural Oblong, Illinois.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Debra Miller, Bartesvile, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Anthony "Tony" Pavia, Fairview, Texas; five grandchildren, Athena Miller, Bethesda, Maryland; Joni and Tyler Collums, Stillwater, Oklahoma; Brittany Miller, Houston, Texas; Parker Pavia, Fairview, Texas and Preston Pavia, Fairview, Texas. Three Great-Grandchildren, Aubree Collums, Mara Collums and Mason Collums, Stillwater, Oklahoma; sister, Joan Russell, Oblong, Illinois; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Janet Miller, Robinson, Illinois; several nieces and nephews and special care givers great niece, Emmie Jo Russell Liddle and great-nephew, Ova Russell. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; one sister, Jean Fritz and a brother-in-law, Bob Russell.

Funeral service will be Sunday May 6, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois with Bro. Charlie Rains officiating. Visitation Saturday May 5, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois. Burial will be in the Oblong Cemetery, Oblong, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the White Oak Christian Church, rural Oblong, Illinois.
