Life Legacy

Carolyn F. Wiman, age 68, of rural Oblong, Illinois, died Thursday May 24, 2012 at her residence. Born May 16, 1944 in Crawford County, Illinois, the daughter of Millard E. and Helen E. (Walter) Midgett. On September 12, 1964 she married James Birch and he passed away November 24, 2004. She then married again on July 17, 1983 to Gary L. Wiman and he preceded her in death October 12, 2011. Carolyn was retired from Home Health Care for the Elderly and had also worked as a dishwasher for the Hi-Way Cafe, Oblong, Illinois and as a housekeeper for Quail Creek Country Club, Robinson, Illinois. She was a member of the White Oak Church, rural Oblong, Illinois; enjoyed bowling and over the years she bowled for many teams. She enjoyed taking care of the elderly and children, especially her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include a sons and daughters-in-law, James Edward Birch, Cambridge, Ohio, Richard Allen and Trudi Birch, Uhrichsville, Ohio, adopted son and spouse, Robert and Robyn Wiman Sr., Tyrone, Oklahoma; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jeff Reynolds, Newcomerstown, Ohio, Carolyn "Carri" Wiman, Oblong, Illinois; step-daughter, Candace Aldoph, Humble, Texas. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Tina Midgett, rural Robinson, Illinois, David and Devera Midgett, Richmond, Kentucky; sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma and Don Thompson, Oblong, Illinois, Bonnie and Ronnie Finn, Oblong, Illinois, Rosalee and Ron Smith, Oblong, Illinois, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Connie and Jim Woodward, Oblong, Illinois; eighteen grandchildren and one expected in September 2012; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James Birch and Gary L. Wiman; one son, Brian Birch in 1981; a sister, Joyce Midgett and two brothers, Keith and Walter Midgett.

Funeral service will be Tuesday May 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois with visitation from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM. Bro. Jack Cunningham will be officiating. Burial to follow in the Berlin Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
