Life Legacy

Mrs. Marilyn A. Simons, age 84, of Jackson, Michigan, formerly of Robinson, Illinois, died Wednesday August 15, 2012 at the Allegiance Hospice Home, Jackson, Michigan, following several months of failing health. Born October 23, 1927 in Crawford County, Illinois, the daughter of Roy Theodore Ted and Alice (Jones) Meeker. On January 4, 1947, she married Charles Eugene Simons and he preceded her in death January 23, 2004. Marilyn was employed as a Librarian for the Albion College Library, Albion, Michigan for 24, years, and was a member of the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church of Flat Rock, Illinois.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Steve and Patsy Simons, Salt Lake City, Utah; William Lee Simons, Robinson, Illinois; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Jean Simons, Jackson, Michigan; Patricia P. and Jewels Couling, Concord, Michigan. Sisters and brother-in-law, Martha and Dick Tracy, Newton, Illinois; Mrs. Norma Trainer, Robinson, Illinois; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Charles E. Simons; brothers, Harry B. Meeker; Edward L. Meeker; sisters, Virginia Schutte; Doris M. Meeker; grandson, Randy Simons; sons-in-law, Chris Dart and Randy VanWinkle.

Funeral service will be Saturday August 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, Illinois with Bro. Robert McCarter officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Oak Ridge United Methodist Church of Flat Rock, Illinois with envelopes available at the funeral home.

We had quite a journey ihe last three and a half months. I am so blessed to have been able to spend this time with Mom. I learned a few things I didn't know and was amazed at her strength. I thank God for my mother and have no doubt she was welcomed into Heaven with open arms.
