Life Legacy

Betty L. Veach, 73, Oblong, Illinois, passed away Sunday September 30, 2012 at 12:40 Cotillion Ridge Nursing Home, Robinson, Illinois.

She was born in Jasper County, Illinois, near Willow Hill, Illinois, on August 8, 1939, and was the daughter of E. Carl Kirk and Mabel (Semple) Kirk. On December 28, 1958, she married Harold Leon Veach, who preceded her in death on November 26, 1997.

Betty was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Oblong High School Class of 1957, Oblong First Christian Church, Henpeck C.B. Club, Cold Foot Campers and Hikers Association, for many years, Betty was in charge of the funeral dinners, taught Sunday School and helped with the Smart Choice Food Program formerly called Angle Food Ministries at Oblong First Christian Church, Oblong, Illinois.

Betty is survived by two sons and daughters-in-laws Carl and Sandra Veach, Oblong, Illinois and David and Jeannie Veach, Hardinville, Illinois, as well as three grandchildren Jared and Ashley Veach, Robinson, Illinois, Tiffany Veach, Terre Haute, Indiana and Casandra Veach, Oblong,Illinois.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. Tuesday October 2, 2012, at the Pulliam Funeral Home and Wednesday morning until time of service.The funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to Oblong First Christian Church, Oblong, Illinois, with envelopes at or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, Illinois, 62449.

Burial will follow the service in Mound Cemetery, rural Jasper County, Illinois, near Oblong,Illinois.
