Mr. Council Brooks, age 78, of Robinson, Illinois, died Friday October 12, 2012 unexpectedly at his residence in Robinson, Illinois.

Born November 16, 1933 in Butler County, Kentucky, the son of Otis and Anne Katherin (Lacefield) Brooks. On August 1, 1964 he married Patricia Marie (Johnson) Butler and she survives. Mr. Brooks was employed by AFM Roadmaster in Olney, Illinois as a line worker and also drove trucks for MAECO of Lawrenceville, Illinois.

Survivors include his wife Patricia M. Brooks, Robinson, Illinois; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Dale "Bob" and Mariah Brooks, Carmi, Illinois; Donald Joe and Kelly Brooks, Vincennes, Indiana; daughter, Malissa Joy Miller, Palestine, Illinois; step-son, Thomas Allen Brooks, Racine, Wisconsin; son-in-law, Scott Allan Judy, Sumner, Illinois; brother and sisters-in-law, Rollie and Bobbi Brooks, Norman, Arkansas; Otis and Jackie Brooks, Bowling Green, Kentucky; sister, Reva McGrew, Bowling Green, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren, Tara Marie Judy, Lawrenceville, Illinois, Kayla and Charles Watkins, Indianapolis, Indiana; Donald Joe Brooks Jr., Vincennes, Indiana; Sabrina Nichole Judy, Sumner, Illinois; Ashley D. Brooks, Marshall, Illinois; Kassie Lynn Brooks, Marshall, Illinois; Tucker G. Brooks, Vincennes, Indiana; Carleigh E. Ridge, Vincennes, Indiana; Michael J. Masterson, Carmi, Illinois; Mitchell D. Masterson, Carmi, Illinois; Brandon Lee Miller, Palestine, Illinois; Zachary Alan Brooks, Racine, Wisconsin; three great grandchildren, Sierra Marie Shepard, Lawrenceville, Illinois; Lilly E. Watkins, Indianapolis, Indiana; Angela Faith Shepard, Lawrenceville, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Angela Brooks-Judy in 2001; two brothers, Kenneth and Charles Brooks and a sister, Clara Cardwell.

There will be Cremation following a private family gathering with scattering of the Cremated Remains at a later date.
