Lenora J. Poehler, 88, Willow Hill, Illinois passed away at 1:30 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2012, at the Long Term Care Unit, Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, Illinois.

Born in Effingham County, Illinois on April 30, 1924, she was the daughter of Albert F. White and Rosa V. (Strong) White. She was a graduate of Teutopolis High School ~ Class of 1942. She was a homemaker and farmwife. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Newton, Illinois. Her hobbies included genealogy; painting; was an avid reader; St. Louis Cardinal fan as well as University of Illinois Basketball and especially spending time with her grandkids.

On August 22, 1946, she married Lloyd B. Poehler, who survives. Also surviving is a son, Ted J. Poehler, Willow Hill, Illinois; two daughters and son-in-law, Jane Ruff, Fishers, Indiana and Judith & Mark Newbold, Oblong, Illinois; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold & Doris White, Effingham, Illinois and a sister, Norma Copeland, Sesser, Illinois.

Preceding Lenora in death were her parents; one brother, Albert White and one great-grandchild, Joshua Fiscus.

The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Newton, Illinois with Pastor Michael Seidenstricker officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wheeler, Illinois. Visitation is from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the American Heart Association or the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with envelopes available at the church or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home, P. O. Box 121, Oblong, Illinois 62449.

Lenora represented to me the never ending energy, kindness, spirit and Love that is very very rare in our world. She was always that light that we all seek when times are tough. She will be missed. She has certainly made her mark in this world.
