Mr. Ernest R. “Ernie” Crouch, age 90 of Hutsonville, IL, died Friday September 15, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Crawford Memorial Hospital following an apparent stroke.

Born September 14, 1927 in Hutsonville, IL, Ernest was the son of Milo A. and Edith A. (Cummins) Crouch.  On February 24, 1951, he married Wilda (Wolfe) and she preceded him in death May 22, 1994.  

Ernie served in the US Navy from 1945 until 1949.  He retired from CIPS – Coffeen Generation Station where he was an Instrument and Computer Technician. Ernie was a member of the United Methodist Church, Coffeen, IL and attended Trimble Bible Church, Trimble, IL.  He was a member of the Hutsonville Historical Society and the VFW Post #4549, Robinson, IL.  Ernie  Volunteered as a Lunch Buddy at the Hutsonville Elemetery School which was very special to him.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Philip and Edith Crouch, Coffeen, IL; John and Joan Crouch, Fox Point, WI; daughter and son-in-law, Rosina and Dan Rohrs, Greenville, IL; six grandchildren, Sarah McNeal, Redwood City, CA; Andrew Rohrs, Floresville, TX; Sheila Moreta, Honolulu, HA; John David Crouch Jr., Charlotte, NC; Jonathan Farrar, Milwaukee, WI; Maxwell Crouch, Milwaukee, WI; five great grandchildren, Daisy and Lilly Crouch, Harris Rohrs and Jessie and Joshua Moreta along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Wilda (Wolfe) Crouch, 1994; three brothers, Milo Jr., Richard Crouch and Russell Crouch, three sisters, Pat Daugherty, Dorothy Schmidt and Phyllis Franklin.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday November 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Hutsonville, IL with Pastor David Hyde officiating.  Visitation will be from 12:00 PM noon until time of service at 1:00 PM at  Pulliam Funeral Home, Hutsonville, IL.  

Memorial donations may be made to the Hutsonville Historical Society with envelopes available at the funeral home.

OMG!!! I did not know this....prayers go out to his family!!! He was a nice man!!! He was my step father in law for awhile....so sad to find this out....but he at home now!!!

Ernie was a fine man and a good neighbor. We will miss him. We would like to offer our condolences to his family and friends.
