MRS. ELEANOR CARMICHAEL, AGE 97

Mrs. Eleanor V. Stephens Carmichael, age 97 of Robinson, IL, died Wednesday July 26, 2017 at 8:42 AM at the Magnolia Center, Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL, following a period of declining health.

Born May 28, 1920 in Mattoon, IL, she was the daughter of William Henry and Matilda Ellen (Fulk) Ash.  On March 25, 1939, she married Robert Earl Stephens, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1979.  She married John M. Carmichael and he preceded her in death in 1998.

Eleanor worked at the Palestine Index Store, Palestine, IL, the Bobby Pin Factory, Hutsonville and Palestine, IL, Crawford Electronics, Robinson, IL and Lexel Industries, Hutsonville, IL. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Hutsonville, IL for 72 years.  Eleanor was a local artist in acrylic and oil paintings.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert K. and Shirley A. Stephens, Robinson, IL; a daughter, Jean Pestoff, Terre Haute, IN; a sister, Mrs. Alma D. Hughes, Parker, CO; grandchildren, Mary and Tony Gray, Jo and Steve Austin, Cathy McCullough, Phoebe and Steve Hicks, Jon Stephens, Kimberly and Dean Edrington, Kyrah and Tom Buchanan, Rob and Paula Baldwin andTammy and Matt McDaniel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert Earl Stephens and John Carmichael and two brothers, William Franklin Ash and Robert Preston Ash.

Funeral service will be Saturday July 29, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Pulliam Funeral Home, Hutsonville, IL with Pastor Tom Buchanan officiating.  Visitation will be Friday July 28, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, IL

Memorial donations may be made to the Magnolia Center Employees Support Fund c/o of First Robinson Savings Bank, Robinson, IL, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
