MR. LAWRENCE E. “LON” ALSPACH, AGE 80

Mr. Lawrence E. “Lon” Alspach, age 80, of Robinson, IL, died Tuesday March 21, 2017 at 4:20 AM at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL, following several months of declining health.

Born April 3, 1936 in Hardinville, IL he was the son of Edgar and Sylvia I. (Lowrance) Alspach.  On April 26, 1956, he married Doris Mae (Evelin) and she survives.

Lon was employed by Robinson Manufacturing (Ettlebrick Shoe Factory) for five years and then at Briggs Pottery as a Finish Sprayer for twenty-three years and following that as a Security Guard for Stewart Security Patrol Inc. for ten years.  He attended Prairie Grove Baptist Church, rural Oblong, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Doris M. Alspach, Robinson, IL; sons, Allen Bud Alspach, Porterville, IL; Glen “Ed” Alspach, Robinson, IL; daughters and sons-in-law Darlene and Steven Ganster, Robinson, IL; Sharon Alspach, Robinson, IL; Amy and Robert Carter, Robinson, IL; grandchildren, Ashley Attaway, Aliceville, AL; Adam and Carmen Alspach, Robinson, IL; a great-granddaughter, Patience Attaway, Robinson, IL; a sister, Helen Alspach, Palestine, IL; a sister-in-law, Gale Alspach, Robinson, IL; sister-in-law and husband, Linda and Robert Smith, Robinson, IL; and a brother-in-law, Dean Evelin, Palestine, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda Alspach; two brothers, William Alspach and LaRue Alspach; a brother-in-law, Albert Evelin and sister-in-law and spouse Glen and Ruby Stifle.

Funeral service will be held on Monday March 27, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Visitation will be Monday March 27, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Cremation to follow funeral services with interment of the cremated remains in the Wilkin Cemetery, rural Oblong, IL, at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens with envelopes available at the funeral home
