MRS. MARY M. CORRELL, AGE 93

Mrs. Mary M. Correll, age 93 of Oblong, IL, passed away with her family at her side on Friday February 24, 2017 at 4:25 AM at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL, following a long period of declining health.

Born June 18, 1923 in Stoy, IL, she was the daughter of Leroy “Roy” and Blanche (Furman) Taylor.  On October 9, 1948 she married Oral Clement “Ben” Correll and he preceded her in death June 26, 1979.

Mary was employed with the 1st National Bank, Oblong, IL; the Index Notion Company as a retail clerk and manager and was a homemaker as well. Mary lived her life in her hometown of Oblong, IL, attending school there, working, and raising her family.  She was a member of the First Christian Church, Oblong, IL.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Richard Sutfin, Robinson, IL; Martha and Dave Johnson, Annapolis, IL; five grandchildren, Janette and Doug Mefford, Kristen and Michael McCormack, Richard Jr. and Miranda Sutfin, Jessica and Nick Dart and Ben and Jesse Johnson; nine great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Neal, Alex Fulling, Kaden McCormack, Ethan Sutfin, Reese Sutfin, Gabe Sutfin, Mallorie Dart, Wes Dart and Allison Johnson along with many dear nieces and nephews and their families.

Preceding her in death parents; her husband Oral in 1979; her siblings and their spouses, George and Irma Lorraine (Taylor) Simmons and Robert G. and Donna Taylor.

There will be Cremation with a Public Graveside Committal service on Saturday March 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Oblong City Cemetery, Oblong, IL, with Br. Mark Luzader officiating.  Pulliam Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to Riley’s Hospital for Children, Indianapolis, IN.

I am not sure how many years Mary was @ Ridgeview, but I can honestly say, I loved taking care of her. She was such a joy to be around. Although I haven't worked at the nursing home for quite some time now, I never stopped thinking about Miss Mary. She will remain in my thoughts for years to come. My deepest sincerest sympathies for her whole family... <3 <3 <3
