MR. CHARLES A. EVERINGHAM, AGE 86

Mr. Charles A. Everingham, age 86, of Robinson, IL, died Tuesday November 15, 2016 at 8:55 PM at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN, following several months of failing health.

Born July 7, 1930 in Hutsonville, IL, he was the son of Benjamin and Gertrude (Merrit) Everingham.  On March 18, 1955 he married Nobuko “Mickey” Tsutsumi and she survives.

Charles served in the United States Air Force for 2 years and the United States Army for 20 years, serving during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.  He was then later employed as a Purchasing Agent at the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Terre Haute, IN.  He was a member of the E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion, Robinson, IL and a life member of VFW Post #4549, Robinson, IL.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. “Mickey” Everingham, Robinson, IL; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles A. Jr. and Janice Everingham, Olney, IL; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and John McCullough, Oblong, IL; Peggy and Alan Cooley, Robinson, IL; Sandra and Greg Bryan, Claremont, IL; brother, Harvey D. Everingham, Robinson, IL; sister-in-law, Marie Everingham, Olney, IL; two grandchildren, Lynda and Chris Hoke, Robinson, IL, Charley and Amanda Cramer; five great-grandchildren, Cady Hoke, Willow Hoke, Cowan Hoke, Ariel Cramer, Emett Cramer and one great-great grandchild, Bentley Hoke along with several nieces and nephews and his four legged buddy, Ajimoto.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Ed, Benjamin and Jack Everingham and two sisters, Frances Burnett and Myrtle Shook.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday November 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until time of service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow services in the Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to the VFW Honor Guard, Post #4549, 712 East Main Street, Robinson, IL with envelopes available at the funeral home.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Charlie. There was no finer gentleman or more trusted fellow employee. I am so glad to have known him at the Penitentiary when I started there in 1977. He will be missed greatly by those who benefited from his friendship! Prayers for the family.

We are saddened by the passing of Charlie. He was such a sweet gentleman. Pops was blessed to have met a friend like Charlie at a time he needed one. We were blessed to have met him. Always a smile on his face. Our Prayers of Comfort and Strength to you all during this difficult time.
