MRS. JOYCE RENEE NORTON, AGE 80

Mrs. Joyce Renee Norton, age 80, of Robinson, IL, died Saturday October 22, 2016 at 11:19 PM EST at Regional Hospital, Terre Haute, IN, following a period of declining health.

Joyce was born July 24, 1936 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of James Mickey and Mary L. (Dudley) Fowler.  She married Roy D. Norton and he preceded her in death October 3, 2008.

Joyce was a Nurse and Paramedic; and worked with the Crawford County Sherriff’s Auxiliary Police.  She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, Robinson, IL; the Crawford County Historical Society and the Crawford County Citizens Band Radio Club.

Survivors include a son, James R. Gibson, Indianapolis, IN; daughter and son-in-law, Renee L. and Donald D. Shook, Robinson, IL; four grandchildren, Mary Ann Gibson, Robinson, IL; Heather R. Shook, Columbia, LA; Nick Gibson, Indianapolis, IN and Mickey M. Shook, Robinson, IL; six great-grandchildren, (two from Robinson, IL) Lindsey Clark, Columbia, LA; Channing Shook, Columbia, LA; Isaac Sikes, Columbia, LA; Wyatt Lee Rider Gibson, Indianapolis, IN; a brother-in-law; four sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be Cremation with a scattering of the Cremated Remains at a later date.

James and Renee, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a dear friend to us. I miss her and Roy alot. I worked with Joyce at the nursing home. We became close friends. Enjoy all the times they came to the farm to play cards. Always enjoyed our sleep overs on new years eve. Our are all in our prayers. Stay in touch with us. James please contact us. Renee I will keep watch for you. Gods blessing to you all.
