MRS. WILDA C. “SIS” EVELAND, AGE 95

Mrs. Wilda C. “SIS” Eveland, age 95, of Robinson, IL, passed away on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at 2:08 PM at the United Methodist Village, Lawrenceville, IL, following several years of declining health.

Born October 7, 1920 in Crawford County, IL, she was the daughter of Harvey and Ethel (Hayes) Knapp.  In 1938 she married Charles Delbert Simmers and he preceded her in death in 1951.  In 1964, she married Roscoe Eveland who passed away in 1972.  Wilda was employed by Robinson Manufacturing (Ettlebrick Shoe Factory), in Robinson, IL and also worked in the kitchen at Rich’s Café in Robinson, IL.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Richard “Rick” Simmers, Robinson, IL; Danny and Tina Eveland, Oblong, IL; daughters and son-in-law, Mrs. Marcia Parker, Robinson, IL; Sherry and Jerry W. Dunlap Sr., Flat Rock, IL; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; son-in-law, Jim Newlin, Robinson, IL along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands; three sons, Wendell “Wink” Simmers; Steve “Pete” Simmers; Teddy R. Simmers; brothers, Winfred Knapp; Buford Knapp; Altas “Buck” Knapp; a son-in-law, Larry Parker; sister, Marjorie Jenkins; daughters, Shirley Kay Simmers and Marilyn Newlin; grandchildren, Bobby Simmers; Tammy Simmers and Rebecca Reznick and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Simmers.

Funeral service will be Monday July 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Visitation will be Monday July 25, 2016 from 12:00 Noon until time of service at 2:00 PM.  Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to the Resident’s Activity Fund at the United Methodist Village, 1616 Cedar Street, Lawrenceville, IL, 62439.
