Joan Copello Heath

Mrs. Joan Copello Heath, age 82, of Lake Bluff, IL, formerly of Lake Forest, IL, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on June 7, 2015. Born in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Everett E. “Skiv” Heath (co-founder of the Heath Candy Company) and Madeline (Shanks) Heath. Joan graduated from Robinson Township High School, continuing her education at Northwestern University to graduate in 1955 with a Bachelor’s degree in history. Raising four children and pursuing a full time job with the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services as an investigator, Joan lived a full, lovely life and is credited for the selection of the Heath Candy Bar wrapper. Those who knew her, loved her. Those who spent time around her, recognized her true inner beauty.

Mrs. Heath is survived by her longtime companion, Mr. Ronald P. Boardman Jr., Lake Bluff, IL; two daughters, Susan and Lou Ehrhard, Lake Forest, IL; Catherine Disch, Lake Bluff, IL; a son, Paul and Allison Copello, Lake Forest, IL, and a daughter, Heather Copello, Lake Bluff, IL; six grandchildren, Matthew Ehrhard, Lucas Ehrhard, Nicholas Ehrhard, Madeline M. Copello, Maxwell Copello and Berkeley Anne Disch also survive.  Additionally several nieces and nephews survive.

A time of visiting and sharing will be observed on Saturday September 19, 2015 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL, from 11:00 AM until the time of Graveside Services at 1:00 PM at Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL, with Rev. Bessie Adams officiating.  

Memorial may be made to the Midwest Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, IL 60025, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
