MRS. MARTHA C. ATWOOD, AGE  89
Mrs. Martha C. Atwood, age 89, of Peoria, IL and formerly of Hutsonville and Robinson, IL, passed away Monday January 5, 2015 at the Liberty Village of Peoria Nursing Home, Peoria, IL, following a long period of declining health.

Born November 6, 1925 in Warren, IN, she was the daughter of James Earl and Lulu Mae (Chapel) Godfrey.  She married Robert C. Phillips and he preceded her in death in 1968.  On November 6, 1973, she married Richard C. Atwood and he preceded her in death in 1998.  

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Terry Phillips, Sheffield, IL; Rev. David and Linda Phillips, Peoria, IL; step-son, Steve Atwood, West Union, IL; step-daughter, Kathy and David Anderson, Dayton, OH; sister, LaVelle Henry, Vandalia, IL; three grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews including Don and Rita Burcham, Austin, TX.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, Robert C. Phillips and Richard C. Atwood; brothers, Calvin Godfrey, Fostine Godfrey; sisters, Doris Bachelor; Bernice Godfrey; Florence Francis and step-daughter, Diana Germain.

Funeral service will be Friday January 9, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL with Pastor David Phillips officiating.  Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of services at 1:00 PM at Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, IL.  Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery, Robinson, IL.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
