MR. DONALD KEITH BAILEY, AGE 86

Mr. Donald Keith Bailey, age 86, of Robinson, IL, died Wednesday April 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL, following several days of declining health.

Born April 2, 1928 in Rockford, IL, he was the son of Albert A. and Mary Etta (Cortelyou) Bailey.  On August 6, 1950 he married Betty B. Newsome who survives.

Donald served in the United States Army Air Corps for three years from 1946 to 1949 attaining the rank of Sgt. He retired in 1986 from Marathon Refinery in Robinson, IL, where the majority of the time he worked in operations and finally in maintenance. His memberships include E.M. Coulter Post #69, American Legion; AF & AM 250 Masonic Lodge, Robinson, IL; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Danville, IL; Wabash Cannon Ball Camping Club; Robinson Summer League of Babe Ruth Baseball, Secretary/Treasurer; President of Robinson Little League for several years; Cubmaster, Pack 327.

Survivors include his wife, Betty B. (Newsome) Bailey, Robinson, IL; sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Rebecca Bailey, Harrisville, UT; Trevor and Pari Bailey, Belview MN; daughter and significant other, Ginger Doucet and Jimmy Zinz, Robinson, IL; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Pauline Bailey, Robinson, IL; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Ray Miller, Vincennes, IN; grandchildren, Taira and Tim Lindsay, Flat Rock, IL; Tony and Tina Doucet, Robinson, IL; Daniel Griffith, Corona, CA; James R. Griffith, Huntsville, UT; Pari Elizabeth Bailey, Belview, MN; six great grandchildren; brother-in-law and spouse, Robert and Loretta Newsome, Oblong, IL and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Pryce Bailey; Frank Bailey; Jerry Bailey and sister, Anna L. Wiman.

The family has chosen cremation with a private family memorial service at a later date.

We were saddened to hear about Donald's death and express to you our deepest sympathy. To Don's family members, many of whom I know.
i thought Betty had hit the jackpot on handsome guys when she rounded up Don, and ask me to sing at the beautiful wedding. I have known att he brothers, and sisters except Pryce, and have been great ful for having known all of you, so I want to add my condolences for you. God bless, and give you peace.
