GREG SNIDER 43

Gregory Allan “Greg” Snider, age 43, of Oblong, Illinois went to Heaven on December 25, 2013 to celebrate Christmas eternally.

Greg was an avid gun collector, loved gardening, an outdoors-man who loved to hunt, fish, farm, country cruise, ride his Ranger, hang out at the gun shop and watch Duck Dynasty.  He was a loving father, husband, and friend.  He was a family man, loved children, loved to help others and was a prankster at heart.

He will be sadly missed by many until we can be together again forever.  He was a hard worker all of his life.  He worked for Ross Oil Company, worked on his family farm and had been employed at Hershey Robinson for 20 years; a graduate of RHS Class of 1988; and a graduate of LTC as a machinist in 1990; a member of Prairie Licking Twp. Fire Department for several years and presently serving as a township trustee for Licking Township.  Greg loved serving his community.

He was born on June 11, 1970, in Robinson, Illinois, the son of Russell Snider and Nancy (Burner) Snider.  On July 17, 1997, he married Rachel Clark Postlewait and she survives.  Other survivors include his parents, Russell and Nancy Snider of Robinson, Illinois; daughters Katlin Snider and Harlei Postlewait, both of Oblong, Illinois; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and his many friends.

Greg was preceded in death by a son/best friend, Stephen Postlewait; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Blanch Snider; Maternal grandparents, William H. “Bill” and Stella Burner.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the funeral home with Bro. Jeff Monroney officiating.  Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery, rural Oblong, Illinois.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the: Katlin Snider Educational Fund, C/O First National Bank, 203 West Main St., Oblong, Illinois with envelopes available at the funeral home or may be mailed to: Pulliam Funeral Home, P. O. Box 121, Oblong, Illinois  62449

Although I didn't know Greg personally, I know that when he would buy things from Sue Miller and I in the cafeteria at Hershey he had a smile on his face. He was pleasant to be around. Sue and I send our condolences to the family.
